1840 pictures of me

i just uploaded the new picasa program... it recognizes my face! yes, it searched my computer and found 1840 pictures of me.

then it started recognizing my friends and family. if you want to know how many times you're in my computer, send me a note. and if you're not in there, you'd better send a picture too.

running after two weeks away

the last time i stopped running was on our summer holiday. the vacation consisted of a few long walks, and perhaps something you might call work, if joyfully picking tomatoes, peppers, and beans and then eating them could be considered that. yet I could really call nothing we did there exercise.

when i got back into it, i really ran. for a while. two weeks ago it stopped again. amazing how much i can lose in such a short time!

today was the first day back again and i'm trying to recall how it felt last time. to find the motivation to get through the first weeks back into routine.

i'll be a little sore tomorrow i think.

women of lockerbie

tonight we went to see emu theatre doing a play called "women of lockerbie" by deborah brevoort. the drama tells the story of pan am 103 which exploded over lockerbie, scotland on december 21, 1988, killing all 259 people on board and 11 people on the ground.

despite the trauma that people of the village experienced, a group of women decided in a gesture of healing, to wash the clothes that had scattered from the crash before returning them to their families.

themes of grief and healing weave through the story, with questions of god and justice, fate and suffering. terrorist language of hate and fear give way to re-covering humanity.

shakespeare!!!

a special treat at the blackfriars playhouse in staunton, va.

a friend and i drove the twenty minutes south, parked, and walked around to look at the cute downtown streets.

we laughed our heads off watching the american shakespeare center players present 'the merry wives of windsor.' (we couldn't take pictures in the theatre, so i found these on google)

the building itself was incredible, just like the real blackfriars. not that i've ever seen it. but from what i've been told.

i'll be going back tonight for another show...
